Refund Policy
Effective date: 24 September 2026
This Refund Policy applies to purchases of PaperSprocket API usage made through Paddle.
PaperSprocket is operated by Ignat Savkin, trading as PaperSprocket, an Irish sole trader.
PaperSprocket is currently offered for business, professional, developer, and organisational use only.
1. How PaperSprocket usage is sold
PaperSprocket is offered on a prepaid usage basis.
Unless otherwise stated on the website or at checkout:
- each purchase is US$10;
- usage is charged at US$0.02 per successfully rendered page;
- there is no subscription; and
- there is no free tier.
A successfully rendered page is a page included in a render that the PaperSprocket service records as successfully completed.
Failed render attempts that do not produce a successful render should not consume page usage.
2. Unused prepaid usage
As an additional PaperSprocket commercial policy, unused prepaid PaperSprocket usage may be refunded on request, even where Paddle's standard buyer refund position would not otherwise require a refund.
If only part of a purchase has been used, the refundable amount will normally be limited to the unused portion of that purchase, subject to:
- the usage recorded in PaperSprocket's ledger;
- any transaction adjustment already made;
- Paddle's refund capabilities and requirements;
- fraud, dispute, or chargeback considerations; and
- any applicable legal requirement.
A refund does not create a right to reuse the refunded portion of the associated usage.
3. Consumed usage
Usage already consumed through successful renders is generally non-refundable.
This reflects the fact that the rendering service has already been performed.
This rule does not prevent a refund, credit, or correction where appropriate because of:
- a duplicate charge;
- an incorrect charge;
- a material PaperSprocket service failure affecting the charged usage;
- fraud or payment error;
- an incorrect usage deduction;
- a refund required by applicable law; or
- a refund required under Paddle's applicable rules.
4. Service failures and incorrect usage charges
If you believe PaperSprocket deducted usage incorrectly or charged for a render that materially failed, contact us at support@papersprocket.com.
Please include enough information for us to identify the affected account and request, such as:
- your account email;
- relevant request or transaction identifier;
- approximate date and time; and
- a short description of what happened.
Do not send confidential source documents, API keys, authentication headers, or other secrets unless we specifically ask for information through an appropriate channel.
We will review the available service, usage, and transaction records and correct confirmed errors where appropriate.
5. Refunds through Paddle
Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for PaperSprocket purchases.
Where PaperSprocket agrees that a refund is due under this policy, PaperSprocket will notify or instruct Paddle accordingly, and Paddle will process the refund as Merchant of Record. PaperSprocket does not issue card-payment refunds directly to the buyer.
The refund will be handled through Paddle's payment infrastructure and will normally be returned using the payment method or refund route supported by Paddle for the original transaction.
The time required for funds to appear after a refund is initiated may depend on Paddle, the payment method, the buyer's bank or payment provider, and other factors outside PaperSprocket's control.
6. Duplicate, fraudulent, or disputed payments
If you believe a payment was duplicated, unauthorised, fraudulent, or otherwise made in error, contact support@papersprocket.com promptly.
We may need to coordinate with Paddle to investigate the transaction.
If a payment is already subject to a chargeback, payment dispute, fraud review, or similar payment-provider process, the available refund route may be affected by that process.
7. Discontinuation of the Service
If PaperSprocket permanently discontinues the Service while you still hold unused prepaid usage, we will provide a reasonable mechanism for refunding the unused portion, subject to:
- Paddle's payment and refund processes;
- fraud, disputes, or chargebacks;
- applicable law; and
- any technical or payment-provider limitation that affects how the refund can be returned.
8. Account suspension or termination
Suspension or termination of an account does not automatically eliminate a valid entitlement to a refund of unused prepaid usage.
However, PaperSprocket may withhold or delay a refund where reasonably necessary to investigate:
- suspected fraud;
- payment reversal or chargeback;
- misuse of payment credentials;
- manipulation of usage records;
- material breach connected with the payment; or
- another legal or payment-provider restriction.
Any withholding or delay will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant investigation or requirement.
9. Records after a refund
Refunding or reversing a payment does not require PaperSprocket to delete the related transaction, accounting, usage, audit, fraud-prevention, security, or legal record where retention remains necessary.
PaperSprocket may retain those records in accordance with its Privacy Notice and applicable legal obligations.
10. How to request a refund
You can request a PaperSprocket refund by emailing:
support@papersprocket.com
You may also use Paddle's buyer/order-support refund route where available for the transaction.
If you contact PaperSprocket directly, please include:
- the email address associated with your PaperSprocket account;
- the Paddle transaction or receipt reference, if available;
- the approximate purchase date; and
- the reason for the request.
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to identify the transaction, calculate the unused portion, prevent fraud, or comply with Paddle's process.
We aim to respond to support and refund requests within two business days. This is a service target, not a guaranteed response time or service-level commitment.
11. Relationship with Paddle's terms and applicable law
Purchases processed by Paddle are also subject to Paddle's applicable buyer, payment, tax, and refund terms.
The unused-usage refund described in section 2 is an additional PaperSprocket commercial commitment. It does not replace Paddle's own mandatory buyer protections or any rights that apply under law.
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any refund or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
If there is a conflict between this policy and a mandatory legal requirement or a mandatory Paddle payment/refund requirement applicable to the transaction, the mandatory requirement will apply.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time.
Changes apply prospectively and do not remove a refund entitlement that had already arisen under the version of the policy applicable when the relevant event occurred.
The effective date at the top of this policy identifies the current version.
